NATWEST
The thing I love most about film-making is storytelling. One of the hardest things about shooting commercials is that you have to get across a story in such a tiny amount of time. It’s why directors like myself rely so heavily on great actors. A good actor can deliver so much information in just a single expression. It’s why I spend so much time casting because I know that time spent casting, is time saved on set and ultimately in the film.
The feel of these films is quite romantic and slightly larger than life. We kept the lighting and the grade quite warm to compliment this.
Natwest also own Royal Bank of Scotland so we had to shoot some scenes twice for the commercials that ran in Scotland with different wardrobe. For example, the wedding scene in the last film where the groom wears a kilt.
